Hi my name is Laetitia and I have been a Midwife in various settings for over 20 years. I am originally from South Africa. I moved to New Zealand with my family in 2010, and haven't looked back.

 

I have 3 children and had natural births with all of them, two being Waterbirths. I loved feeling empowered and being in control of my labours and births. My Midwife supported my beliefs and preferences and encouraged me to believe in myself and my capabilities.

I love the New Zealand Midwifery system, especially with the continuity of care. Although Midwives in New Zealand are autonomous practitioners, we are very well supported by various professions.
